A competitive body builder for five years, Debby has been involved with core and strength training, bio-mechanics, and general fitness in Folsom for 20 years. Her emphasis is on teaching clients how to use weights correctly, and creating workout programs that will excite them and make them look forward to coming back. “It all begins with good communication. Body language is as important to watch as verbal cues – people may not tell you what makes them feel comfortable or what is challenging, but their facial expressions and posture can speak volumes. This is especially true for people worried about fitting in; regardless of body type, fitness level, or ability, my goal is to make clients feel good about what they experience here. Knowing a person’s abilities, disabilities, and interests are an important part of creating an exercise program that keeps a person interested. I also like to draw them into activities that they can use to incorporate exercise into everything they do, including outdoor activities. With the right strength, flexibility, balance and conditioning in the gym, people find they enjoy hiking, rock climbing or other activities more than ever. One of my goals is to help clients build to a level of health and fitness where they don’t need me. When I see confidence, positive attitude, and a sense of well being, we both feel great! They become aware of mind and body changes, while I see a willingness to come in and continue working to achieve goals and smiling when they come in the door. Keep things positive and upbeat, and people will enjoy what we do together.” |
