Lynn
Alberts
A massage therapist for over ten years, Lynn adds value to her clients by bringing personal training skills to her massage work. Her focus is on prevention and core strength, based on a firm belief that healing starts from the inside and goes outward. Having moved to Folsom from Atascadero, Lynn’s specialty is mio-postural release and neuro-muscular massage. “The foundation for my relationships with clients is good communication – my hand to their bodies, their bodies to my hands. In other words, my hands ‘listen’ to what the muscles have to say about the client’s pain, stress, injury, or discomfort. I also use written questionnaires to learn what they are experiencing, and to find an area of commonality with them right from the beginning. Massage is truly a healing art; I came into this vocation to help free people from pain and establish a lifestyle of illness and injury prevention. I keep detailed notes on each session so that I know what the person’s condition was each time we were together, and so that I can possibly give them suggestions to correct things that are causing the pain or discomfort. One of the things I like about Savvy Fitness is that everyone leaves here with a smile – regardless of who they worked with or how challenging their workout might have been. I take my work seriously, but I honestly believe that life has to be fun, too. The professional staff at Savvy knows the fitness industry, and brings a broad spectrum of experiences and skills to clients and to each other. They are great people to work with, and a tremendous resource for me and for my clients. When my dad was dying, I realized that helping relieve pain in others was my true calling. When I work with someone and see that their pain level is reduced, or that their pain occurrences are fewer and less debilitating, then I know we’re succeeding. There are the little victories – maybe I find muscles are releasing more quickly. And there are the big ones – pain goes away for short or long periods of time. My goal is to help clients get to a place where massage is no longer vital to your ability to make it through the day, but instead becomes just a great way to pamper yourself.”
